With Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO) gearing up for it’s annual TOK TOK to be held in August this year, agents have been getting a taste of what’s to come through the 2018 Vanuatu Roadshows that have been held throughout Australia and New Zealand last month.
With Air Vanuatu seeing 110% in growth for the month of April VTO chief executive officer, Adela Issachar Aru, says these industry events are crucial for driving interest from the Australasian market and continuing to increase visitor figures year on year.
Earlier this week over 100 agents mixed and mingled at the Auckland Roadshow held at the Maritime Room. Agents were able to discover products and increase their destination knowledge from VTO Vanuatu struts its stu and local operators The Havannah, Chantilly’s, Warwick Le Lagoon, Air Vanuatu, Evergreen Tours, Ratua Island Resort & Spa, The Melanesian, Moorings Hotel, Iririki and Vanuatu’s newest resort Ramada Resort Port Vila.
VTO NZ representative, Jacquie Carson says with interest in remote islands and authentic local travel experiences gaining momentum, Vanuatu’s 83 islands have so much to offer all types of travellers.
Agents were treated to a performance from local Vanuatu Banks dance group and had the opportunity to score themselves some great prizes, including a major prize giveaway of return flights to Port Vila with Air Vanuatu, three nights at Ramada Resort Port Vila and two nights at The Havannah.
Coinciding with the New Zealand roadshow an incentive has been launched. Agents who sell 10 tickets or more to Vanuatu within the next six weeks will receive a return ticket to Vanuatu. Vanuatu specialist programmes are also available.
