A SPTO team and officials from seven national tourism offices are in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China from June 25 to July 4 to attend the Tourism Human Resource Development and Training Program for Pacific Island Countries.
The training is funded and hosted by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism (MOCT) in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, and organized by the Jinan University (JNU).
This is part of the 2019 China Pacific Tourism Year initiative which SPTO and member countries are participating in with the Peoples’ Republic of China.
During the two weeks participants will participate in field visits, exchange views with their counterparts in China and also attend sessions on tourism development. NTOs represented at this event include Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu.
