South Pacific Pocket Guide has released www.tongapocketguide.com – the largest travel guide about Tonga ever written.
After considering several applications from National Tourism Organisations to fast-track the creation of an online travel guide for their destinations, South Pacific Pocket Guide has chosen the Kingdom of Tonga to get its online travel guide to be created first. On Monday December 2nd the online travel guide was launched at the address www.tongapocketguide.com
The website already features over 350+ articles covering all aspects of travelling in Tonga. An estimated 400 extra articles are to be published in the first quarter of 2020.
The travel guide is an answer to the largest barrier to travel for visitors to the South Pacific Islands which is the lack of trustworthy information. It aims to increase the number of tourists visiting the region and help the industry manage its growth in a sustainable way.
TongaPocketGuide.com has already received praise from the local industry with the Tonga Tourism Exchange association saying:
“[TongaPocketGuide.com is] The most comprehensive Travel Encyclopedia for Tonga at present. Never before did visitors to our Island Kingdom have access to such an extensive and well-presented source of Tonga travel information!”
South Pacific Pocket Guide owns and operates the largest online travel guide in New Zealand, as well as one of the largest travel guides to Fiji. It is planning on creating online travel guides for most South Pacific destinations in the next seven years. The project is fully funded by South Pacific Pocket Guide through a NZ$850,000 pledge made in 2018.
The travel guide’s creation also comes with free seminars where the South Pacific Pocket Guide team shares its online know-how with members of the industry in order to increase the online proficiency within the local tourism workforce.
