The UAE and Nauru have signed a memorandum of understanding to exempt UAE nationals carrying diplomatic, private, VIP and regular passports from obtaining pre-entry visas, with the possibility of staying for up to 90 days on each visit, starting from November 19, 2017.
The Government of Australia is providing an AU$3.3 million grant as additional financing to help fund the preparation of the proposed Nauru Sustainable and Climate Resilient Connectivity Project, which is currently supported by a $900,000 technical assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
"Angam Day" celebrated on 26 October is regarded as a very special and significant day to the Nauruan people. Angam means coming home. This national day commemorates the return of the Nauruan people from the brink of extinction.
