This Division is responsible for supporting the sustainable development of tourism in the South Pacific in terms of the Environmental, Socio-Cultural and Economic aspects.

Goal:   To provide support to the Sustainable Development of Tourism in the region.

 Key Functions:

  • Capacity Building
  • Technical Assistance on Sustainable Tourism issues through SPTO Partnerships
  • Advisory Capacity on National Plans & Policies relative to Sustainable Tourism Development

Call for Expressions of Interest – For Fiji Hotels/Tourist Accommodations To participate in a tourism sustainability project for Hotels

SPTO is partnering with the Sustainable Travel International (STI) to introduce a simple yet practical online tool that will help the accommodation sector to self-monitor, measure and report your sustainability performance on an ongoing basis.

The sustainable tourism approach will enable businesses to monitor and reduce energy-use, waste reduction, water consumption and sourcing supplies sustainably.

SPTO and STI will be delivering training targeting hotels and accommodation providers who are committed to making a difference in their daily operations by making the right decisions.

Hurry and register your interest below for the upcoming training, which will NOW be held on the following dates:

  • 5th – 6th December, Suva  at PSC Government Training Centre, Nasese (FNU School of Catering)
  • 7th – 8th December, Nadi at Tanoa International Hotel

We encourage Accommodations to register now to avoid disappointment as seats are limited.
