The South Pacific Tourism Organisation has awarded Office Assistant, Esther Morrel its ‘Staff of the Year’ award recognizing her outstanding contribution and service throughout 2018 to the organisation.
“Our staff are the backbone of the organisation, and our management team understands that employee satisfaction is important for any organisation because it leads towards a positive growth for us. We are delighted to recognise the exceptional work of Mrs. Morrel” said SPTO CEO, Chris Cocker.
The staff of the year is an annual award given to the staff member who has provided the best service. This is based on assessment by the SPTO Management following the criteria of outstanding achievement on the job, exceptional contributions towards the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, outstanding service to other employees and visitors, social and extracurricular activities, personality and attitude.
Starting in 2016, the South Pacific Tourism Organisation has recognised the commitment and service of its staff through this award, donated by the CEO for outstanding service to the organisation.
“I was shocked but delighted to receive this award. It’s a team effort and I would like to thank my colleagues for their support and hard work. I am also looking forward to 2019 and working with an organisation that’s instrumental in regional tourism development” said Mrs. Morrel.
Esther is a valued member of the Corporate & Finance Division and integral in the administration work of the organisation. She has been an employee of SPTO for more than fourteen (14) years. She is a committed employee who works above and beyond expectation and is respected by her fellow colleagues
As an annual staff recognition award, the SPTO Management will undertake this again in 2019.
Established in 1983 as the Tourism Council of the South Pacific, the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) is the mandated organisation representing Tourism in the region. Its 18 Government members are American Samoa, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia,
Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Marshall Islands, New Caledonia, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and the People’s Republic of China.
