Two new resorts on Vanuatu’s Tanna and Santo islands were showcased at the recent Tok Tok trade event in Port Vila. Tanna’s Rockwater Resort opened with seven rooms in April this year, with three more due to come on line by the end of the year. A twenty minute coastal drive from Tanna’s Whitegrass Airport, Rockwater’s northwest location is protected by trade winds and far away from volcanic ash fallout.
Rockwater is an adults-only resort, accepting guests aged 12 years and over. All accommodation has ocean views, king bed, fan, fridge, coffee and tea making facilities, shower and bath. The resort has a 20% early bird offer for bookings made 20 days or more in advance of arrival.
In Santo, the new five-star Black Pearl Resort & Spa has fifteen fale-type bungalows under construction and is
accepting bookings from April 2019. Its Oceanic Restaurant & Bar is already open
to the public.
The eight-hectare resort is the brainchild of Swiss ex-pat Roman Jetter who has lived in Vanuatu for 10 years.
It will be spread over eight hectares with much of the building and furniture crafted in the onsite carpentry shop.
