Liz Scott, Quantum Travel Group (centre), won a trip for two to New Caledonia with Aircalin at the Robin Hood screening last week. Terry Hardisty, YOU Travel (second from left) and Novita Parulian won gift baskets. They are seen here with Vanessa Tjemplon, Aircalin and Sally Pepermans, New Caledonia Tourism

Soft adventure will be New Caledonia Tourism’s key message to Kiwis next year as the NTO builds on the 60% visitor growth it has seen out of this country over the past two to three years.

‘When I started in this role in 2015, about 6000 Kiwis travelled to New Caledonia,’ says Sally Pepermans, New Caledonia’s New Zealand representative. ‘In 2017 we hit 10,000 and 2018 is looking strong.

‘In 2019 we will focus on soft adventure and New Caledonia has fantastic events around this. Next year will also be a big famil year to build on the engagement and interest we have had from the trade.’

New Caledonia Tourism and Aircalin promoted adventure of a different kind last week when they hosted agents to a Gold Class viewing of the latest movie interpretation of the story of Robin Hood.
