Tourism Fiji is pleased to share that the Love our Locals Facebook Group now has over 5,000 members and has shared over 100 special deals and offerings since the campaign launch on June 5.
The growth of the group, which was created to help promote local tourism and support businesses, has happened quicker than anticipated.
Tourism Fiji Director of Marketing Ms Emma Campbell said they have received great feedback from tourism businesses who have begun to receive bookings and enquires from people who saw the deals on our group.
“The feedback so far has exceeded our expectations with some tourism businesses reporting better than anticipated visitation, particularly at weekends. Visitors are telling us that it’s great to have all the deals in one place and that the functionality of the Facebook group makes It easy to plan a trip. While we know that not everyone can travel domestically right now, it’s great to see those who can using the platform and supporting local.”
Ms Campbell adds they anticipate more members joining following the easing of a few restrictions announced by the Government recently such as the reopening of pools and the limit on gatherings being moved from 20 people to 100 people.
Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Officer Mr Matthew Stoeckel said, “I want to thank our industry partners who have participated in contributing local deals and offers to the platform, and for everyone who have been able to take a well-earned break to experience Fiji’s incredible tourism products and supported their local tourism industry.”
Tourism Fiji continues to push domestic tourism, to those who have the means to travel and explore Fiji, by encouraging people to take advantage of special deals on the Love our Locals Facebook Group.
