The musicians community water project, based in Ialuwalu village at Loukatai area on the island of Tanna, was finally launched on Thursday this week 7th November 2019.
A 10,000L tank now supplies water to a population of approximately 3000 villagers, through the Vanuatu Wan Voes Kivhan association and co partners and sponsors who have helped the musicians accomplish its 2 year project.
The delegation that flew to Tanna this week to mark this special occasion included the executive committee of Vanuatu Wan Voes Kivhan Mrs Alcina Charley and Mr Jean Pierre Sam, and invited guests representing partners and sponsors of the project; Mr Jimmy Kasse 1st PA to the Hon. Minister Andrew Solomon Napuat, Mr Moses Navuniivi of Rotomould Company, Mr Alfred Kapalu of Tradebase company, and Paran Latan who provided entertainment during the event.
Speeches from chief representatives and community leaders highlighted that the village was in much need of water and thanked the Kivhan associations and sponsors for answering the cry of its people.
Other speeches were from Mr Jimmy Kasse and the chairlady of the Vanuatu Wan Voes Kivhan organization Alcina Charley, who both stressed that they will continue to join hands together to help the people and communities through their networks.
