Air Kiribati has confirmed its new Dash 8 aircraft will commence domestic flight services in December after all documentation and technical works for the aircraft are completed.
However International flights to neighbouring Tuvalu and Marshall Islands are expected to start next year.
Air Kiribati CEO Tarataake Teannaki told Radio Kiribati News, the airline and Civil Aviation are working to get all the documentation and technical works completed before international flight services commence.
Meanwhile, tourist cruise liners are back visiting Fanning Island. Cruise liner stopped their scheduled visit to the island because of the poor condition of the wharf at Fanning Island.
MP from Fanning Tekiau Aretateta told Radio Kiribati News cruise liner resumed their stop-overs after maintenance and upgrading works to the island’s new wharf alleyway.
Tourists from Seabourn Cruise Line visited the island on 02 November.
