Gebauer Haus is a joint venture between Robert “Uti” Gebauer and his older sister Pauline Jane Gebauer. The project started off as a hobby and then grew from the love of making Samoan handicrafts taught to Pauline and Robert by their parents.

Their talents pull from both their Samoan and Tongan heritages plus their German heritage that was the inspiration for the business name, Gebauer Haus.

Pauline and Robert combine their talents and sell their creations in the boutique located in the village of Pavaiai, in their parent’s home known as Gebauer Haus.

Pauline creates custom island jewelry under her brand name of “Lini’s Design”.

She sources many of her raw materials from throughout the world to create her “one-of-kind” pieces. What puts her items a part from many other artists is her use of mixed medium with pearls to semi precious stones to create wearable art.

She also brings a contemporary style of Samoa Art to be worn as a complementary gesture to complete that special outfit. May it be a formal event or a casual look, “Lini’s Designs” will have something to make you feel fabulous.   She has many items to suit all tastes and can customize items per your request.

Robert or “Uti”, as friends and family know him more commonly, is a local artist and provides the artistic drive for designing fabric either using traditional methods like “Elei” making to more elaborate custom designs by hand painting. Uti conceptualizes all the merchandising of all the product displays.

Uti also sources other fabric designs from local artist too. Trying to help other American Samoa artists with their products. From these textiles, he designs custom pillowcases (small and large sizes), table runners, napkins and a line of men’s custom shirts, sizes 1x to 4x. He also has custom fabric for sale too. Unlike his sister, Uti designs gold jewelry and designs custom iron works displayed in the shop.

Future plans include a section for his paintings and photo gallery.

The second floor houses 3 executive rooms that make up a very special Bed and Breakfast. These rooms overlook a beautiful private island oasis. Shuttle to and from the airport is available on request.

Future plans include a website for those who want to view it from a far and to have items purchased and sent to their homes.

They hope to have an on line store open within 2 weeks just in time for Christmas shopping.

Currently the boutique is open on the weekends only till Christmas.

Friday and Saturday from 9.00am to 5.00pm or by appointment by calling Uti at +1-684-258-8641.
