Economic Impact of International Yachting in Fiji Report & Infographic

In October 2018, MDF partnered with Fiji’s two largest marinas, Port Denarau and Vuda, to undertake a comprehensive economic impact assessment of Fiji’s yachting industry. The survey and assessment was carried out over a period of three (3) months by the international consulting firm AMSTEC Pty Ltd, culminating in a national stakeholder workshop on 6th November, 2018.

We are now pleased to send you the final report of the Economic Impact of International Yachting in Fiji, headline survey results of which include the following:

  • Total economic contribution FJD 60.6 million a year
  • Direct economic contribution of FJD 21.6 million a year
  • FJD 34.9 million foreign exchange spent directly into Fiji businesses and communities
  • FJD 7,808 – average spend per person
  • 4,473 people arrived on yachts in 2018
