The Minister of Tourism, Nicole Bouteau, participated in the Board of Directors of Tahiti Tourism held last Thursday at the Presidency. The Board was chaired by Maïlee Faugerat, Chair of the Board of Directors since December 2017.
The members approved the closure of the 2017 accounts of the grouping as well as the appointment of the new agency of representation of the destination in South Korea, JP Marketing, for the last semester 2018. In December 2016, the Board of Directors had designated the Good PR Marketing agency to promote Tahiti and its islands in Korea. The agency has announced that it will cease its activity from July 31, 2018, JP Marketing, agency of Ms. Jennifer Park, who is currently the head of the account Tahiti Tourism within Good PR Marketing, and who will also be the GSA ( representative) of Air Tahiti Nui on the market, has been appointed to continue to implement the actions already provided for in the Tahiti Tourisme 2018 action plan.
Board members also exchanged on tourism statistics in the first quarter of 2018. The management of Tahiti Tourism said a tactical campaign would be launched on the American market with the help of local tourism professionals to revive the market and promote the low season.
Tahiti Tourisme’s efforts in the development and promotion of niche products such as small family hotels and cruises were highlighted. The Board also reaffirmed the importance and potential of the Asian market.
