Anglican Archbishop Of Polynesia Pays Visit To SPTO

The Archbishop and Primate/ Bishop of Polynesia, the Most Reverend Dr Winston Halapua visited the SPTO this week (27/09). Since 2010, he has served as the Bishop of Polynesia and as one of three Co-Archbishops of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia (includes Fiji, Samoa,Tonga, the Cook Islands).


Climate change in the Pacific Islands is an issue close to the Archbishop Halapua’s heart and he has been an active advocate of this within the Anglican Church. The visit builds on a common desire to nuture a stronger relationship between the church and SPTO in promoting and safeguarding environmental and cultural sustainability through tourism.
