First came love, then an Instagram post of the duo and now Adrift actress Shailene Woodley and Vodafone Flying Fijian rugby player Ben Volavola made their first official appearance in public.
Ms Woodley, the lead actress of the movie, with her boyfriend Mr Volavola made their official appearance during her red carpet debut at the premier of Adrift at Regal LA Live Stadium 14 on May 23 in Los Angeles, California.
Ms Woodley and Mr Volavola met while she was filming the movie on location in Fiji last year.
The actress made their relationship Instagram official in January with a sweet photo of the two kissing.
The couple’s debut pictures are currently in the Top 50 trending list on social media.
Adrift is said to be one of the most awaited movies shot in Fiji last year and releases on June 1.
The movie is an unforgettable story about the resilience of the human spirit and the transcendent power of love.
The movie starring Ms Woodley and Sam Claflin, is based on the inspiring true story of two sailors who set out to journey across the Pacific ocean from Tahiti to San Diego.
The actress, in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his live show said she had a great time shooting the movie in Fiji.
She said they got to know the local culture of Fiji quickly along with the traditional ceremonies called the Kava ceremony and communities.
“About 90 per cent of the movie is shot in the ocean, about two hours away from the mainland, where no land is visible,” Ms Woodley said.
“I had zero experience of sailing a boat before the movie. During the shoot, I learned and now I can confidently sail a boat.
“The movie is about a couple who sailed into a category five hurricane and had to survive post hurricane. It is based on a true story which took place in the 1980s.”

Tami Oldham (Shailene Woodley) and Richard Sharp (Sam Claflin) could not anticipate they would be sailing directly into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history.
