The soon to start refurbishment at Sheraton Denarau was a major talking point when Marriott’s Pacific Hotel’s held a function for trade this week.
Leon Thomson, cluster director of sales at Sheraton and Westin Resorts in Fiji, says the work on the Sheraton will start 28 October and will involve refurbishment of all accommodation, lobby, dining areas and more. It is expected to be complete by the end of September, when work will then start on the Westin. The combined Sheraton – Westin expenditure is F$130 million.
The Marriott function, held at Sheraton Four Points in Auckland, was an opportunity for trade to meet key new people in the hotel group’s stable – including Brian Nathan, cluster manager at Sheraton Samoa Hotel & Resort; Romain Chanet, cluster general manager of the Le Meridiens in New Caledonia; and Melissa Pretorius, sales manager global sales New Zealand.
